Martinsville Uppr9t Summer Camps-August 16-20

Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad's premier soccer camp program is coming to Martinsville, Virginia for a 5 day camp like no other.  SoccerOP specializes in teaching the individual technical skills that allow players to excel on the field!

Skills Camp

Ages 9-13 Boys and Girls

9:00AM - 12:00 PM : $100

This age range is crucial to develop proper techniques and building good habits on the soccer field.  Players will be taught and challenged in all the basic and advanced techniques of soccer (trapping, shooting, passing, heading and moves).  There will be fun games daily (world cup, jersey ball, etc...) and scrimmages.  Awards will be given out at end of week for Most Improved, Sportsmanship, and Top Performer.  Registration includes Camp T-shirt

Ages 14-18 Boys and Girls

1:00PM - 4:00PM : $100

This camp will be more focused on taking the technical skill to the next level.  Basic techniques will be revisted (trapping, shooting, passing, heading, and moves) and advanced techniques learned.  Special emphasis will be placed  on ATTACKING.  The focus will be on finishing (proper ball striking, volleying, heading, finesses finishing, bending a ball, finishing break-aways) and beating players in different situations (such as a defender in front, defender approaching from the side, defender approaching frombehind, and 1v1 movement before receiving the ball.  Awards will be given out at end of week for Most Improved, Sportsmanship, and Top Performer.  Registration includes Camp T-shirt.

Tactical Camp

Ages 9-13 Boys and Girls: 5:30PM-6:30PM

Ages 14-18 Girls: 6:30PM-8:00PM

Ages 14-18 Boys: 8:00PM-9:30PM

$100 Tactical Camp Only:$40 if enrolled in Skills Camp

The focus of this camp is to learn the "mental side of soccer".  Learning to play tactically is essential to playing at a higher level.  Trainers will observe players in small-sided and full field scrimmages.  While observing, trainers will stop play, ask players questions and help them understand offensive and defensive postioning, making runs, communication, different formations and true possession soccer by playing through triangles (2 options at all times minimum for player with ball)
